To the readers of the Gone To Pieces Quilt Guild blog, I apologize! Heather showed me how to access the site, write the blog, put in photos, even schedule for later publication. But even with my notes in front of me I have been unable to do any of the above except write. Even the scheduling did not work out.  So while I am in this learning curve please bare with me.

September Workshop

The ladies of the guide got together for a Military Strippers day in Sept. We did a lot of stripping (2 1/2" strips), chatting, and eating.

Workshops

June taught a really cool workshop in May about Fabric Cut & Fold.  The technique results in some really beautiful wreath-like blocks.

Fabric Cut & Fold Workshop
In June, we had a guest teacher who taught a class on Scrappy 9-Patch Miniatures.  The ladies had a ton of fun and showed their finished projects at the next guild meeting during Sew & Tell!

Delilah also taught a great workshop in July.  We had one of the largest turn-outs on record for this Locker Hooking class!

New Challenge

Have we told you about our new challenge this year?  We've got a few going on...

1.  Challenge Quilt 2013 - "Bling It On!"  All entries must be wallhangings that use the given fabric and contain at least 2 other forms of "bling."  Due in November.

2.  Color Challenge - Each month a color is published in the newsletter and members are challenged to make an item using that color.  Easy!

...and the new challenge...

3.  "Use It Up!" Challenge - Use up those scraps to make a project featuring the announced element.  So far we've used 4-patches, pinwheels, 9-patches, and flying geese!
